A huge thank to to Emily Puentes from Bridge Acres Farm for entrusting us with this special young buck. As soon as I saw his dam, CH 40 West Farm Mary Jane on her website I knew Geralt would fit in perfectly. We also have a fruit farm, Thunder Chuckles Ranch, and one of my goals is to make cheeses from yummy goat milk. My hope with Geralt is that his daughters will help us more than meet our own milk needs and have enough to share.

I love the fact that his dam seems to get better with age. Even at 6 years old, she is just as rock solid as she was at 2. A sure sign of excellent conformation, since carrying kids is a huge strain on a doe's body. This and her high level of milk production are exactly what I want to see...solid does that have long productive lives with as little human interference as possible. Breeding animals is a huge responsibility, bringing new life into this world. One thing I always try to keep in mind is to make sure that I always make breeding decisions so the offspring can live long, happy lives as God made them to. 

At just a little over 1.5 years old, Geralt has matured into a very handsome young buck. He's settled his first does and I cannot wait to see his first kids arrive this autumn!
